Shearwater Annual Spring Hobby Show

The 22nd Annual Spring Hobby Show will be held at the Sea King Club, 242 Warrior Avenue, Shearwater, from 10 AM – 4 PM on Saturday & Sunday the 20th and 21st of April 2023. The location is very close to the museum, just past the main gate at Shearwater, on the left.

The show continues to be a major fundraiser for the museum, with all show proceeds being donated to the museum to assist with exhibit and restoration activities, which is crucial after 2.5 years closed. General show information will be uploaded in the coming week on the museum’s new website at https://shearwateraviationmuseum.ca/index.php/canadian-naval-air-remembers/spring-hobby-show/

The show, as always, will be an eclectic, multi-discipline event featuring Model Aircraft, Armor, Ship, Automotive & Science Fiction subjects; Model Railway layouts; Dolls & Dollhouse Miniatures; Radio Control Ship & Aircraft Models; Lego displays; various Enactor groups; special interest hobbyists; a Trade Fair; and much, much more for a total of approximately 120 sales and exhibit tables.  We definitely have something to offer for everyone and an ideal opportunity to showcase your hobby. Please note that table requests are on a first-come first-served basis, and we have capacity for only 120 tables.  I will have a waiting list available.

The Sea King Club will be open from 1 – 9 PM Friday, April 19th, and from 8 – 10 AM Saturday April 20th for exhibitor and vendor setup. Exhibitors and vendors are expected to remain “setup” until 4 PM on Sunday. That said, it is recognized that some out of town exhibitors or vendors, who might otherwise wish to participate in the show, may not be in a position to stay through until Sunday. On a case by case basis, and by prior request, it may be possible to make arrangements for Saturday or Sunday only participation.

General Admission:        General admission will be $5.00 per person or $12.00 per family of four.

PLEASE NOTE: There will not be a plastic model contest held this year, unfortunately.

Exhibit tables are on average 4 or 5′ ft long and 30″ deep. All exhibitors and vendors are expected to provide table cloths or other suitable coverings to dress and drape their tables in order to create a professional look.

Floor space and/or display and sales tables must be booked in advance. To make reservations, or if you have any questions at all, please fill in the attached registration form and email it to Christine Hines, SAM Curator at office@shearwateraviationmuseum.ns.ca or call 902-830-6809.
